2013 Ford GT500 V8 650HP Tuned by Shelby

“SVT keeps the Shelby GT500 on the cutting edge of technology and takes muscle car performance to new heights,” said Jost Capito, Ford’s director of Global Performance Vehicles...agree? Yes...SVT garage first pony car will top 200 mph...the war continues beating the 2012 ZL1 Camaro which clocks 184mph...The GT500 will be built at the AutoAlliance International Plant in Flat Rock, MI.

It houses a 5.8-liter V8  aluminum-block engine ejaculating 650horses and 600 lb-ft its exempted from the guzzler tax! it has a new supercharger, cross-drilled block and heads, updated camshafts, a carbon fiber driveshaft plus upgraded clutch, transmission and axles.

The Shelby GT500 also get a new Brembo brake system with six-piston front calipers and larger rotors all round to reduce brake fade.

It has a 6-speed manual transmission with upgraded gears and different ratios, as well as new bearings and housing to manage the torque with a final-drive ratio of 3.31:1 for optimized overall gearing to complement the massive torque. The clutch has increased torque and rpm capacity and uses a dual-disc design. The optional Performance Package has a Torsen limited-slip differential to improve traction under track conditions. A new launch control system was also developed that lets drivers set the desired launch RPM depending on tire temperature, road surface or other conditions. Uniquely, the SVT launch control is integrated into both the engine control and traction control systems.

The entire cooling system has been updated to include a more efficient charge-air cooler with a new intercooler pump and heat exchanger. The cooling fan is also larger and the fan shroud has high-speed pressure-relief flaps.
